JANUARY 2011 MONTHLY CALENDAR & WHATS HAPPENING AT THE RIDGE 2011

Theme of the school year is Integrity. Each month a clue will be given for students to solve a word which deals with Integrity. The word for September is "Mission." CTE Lesson #14 lesson will be taught on 11/3/2011 in the CTE classroooms. Second semester will start on January 5th. 8th Grade registration will start on 1/25/2011 with Snow Canyon Middle School counselor's visiting all the LRI 7th period classes. On 1/28/2011 actual 8th grade registration will start at 6-8 p.m. at S.C.M.S. will be out on January 18th due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Registration for 2010-2011

*5th grade registration will take place Lava Ridge February 1st-4th during elementary tours of LRI. 6th grade registration will be February 9, 2011 during social study classes. 7th grade registration for Snow Canyon Middle School will be during CTE classes on February 5, 2010. S.C.M.S. counselors will give a presentation on January 25, 2011 during 7th period.

Testing Programs

As testing coordinators we will conduct the following tests for 2010/2011 school year: , CRT (Criterion Reference Testing/End of Level) April 19th- Math 12th. All CRT's will be computer based this year.

Responsive Services

Individual and group crises counseling for prevention, intervention, and follow up.

Individual Student Planning

SEOP's (Student Educational & Occupation Plan)- Individual and small-group appraisal & advisement during registration and parent teacher conferences. 7th grade SEOP's will be conducted during the CTE classes.

Resource Referral Program

Implimenting the initial steps in referring students for resource testing, reviewing test scores, studying performance levels in core subjects, and previous teacher placement information.

Study Skills

A Class designed to assist students in accomplishing course assignments by learning organizational skills, recieving one on one instruction, and tracking attendance.
